Sporting Kansas City 2015 Open Tryouts will take place on June 13th and 14th, 2015 at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, MO.
Sporting Kansas City hosts Open Tryouts once a year for the first 200 players (18 years and older) that apply. The Open Tryouts are held during the beginning of the summer transfer window for one weekend in June. This is the best opportunity to be seen by the Sporting Kansas City technical staff for evaluation.
“The last seven years we have been pleased with the number of talented players who have taken part in our open tryouts,” Sporting KC Manager Peter Vermes said. “We are always looking to improve our roster, and these tryouts give us a chance to get a look at players who might be trying to take a less conventional route to MLS.”
Chosen finalists will then get the opportunity to tryout with the Sporting first team during the Summer Transfer Window with the chance of securing a contract. Final tryout information and times will be provided to each participant closer to the event.
Kansas City has held open tryouts each of the last seven seasons dating back to 2008, which was the first time since the inaugural 1996 season that the team had given an opportunity to players from across the globe to participate in an organized open tryout. The tryouts have consistently drawn approximately 200 players from more than a dozen different countries annually.
