Open Tryouts will take place on Friday, November 11th. Select Players will be invited to compete in a Showcase on Saturday, November 12th. All players 18 and older are eligible to register.
The SF Deltas primary goal is to put a championship soccer team on the field fueled by local players. Open Tryouts are their way of evaluating the best local talent and giving you a chance to be a part of the Deltas legacy. Head coach, Marc Dos Santos, will be present and he has promised to offer at least one player from Open Tryouts a spot in training camp for their inaugural season at Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park.
The San Francisco Deltas also invited scouts from the top professional and amateur clubs in the Bay Area to attend their Open Tryouts with the goal of increasing opportunities for players.

One of our goals is to make our Open Tryouts accessible to as many players as possible. However there are costs associated with hosting an event (ie. field rental, staff, and equipment needs). The $75 registration fee is simply for us to cover our costs. The players selected for the showcase will receive their money back in full. Our fee is well below the average fee charged by other professional soccer teams’ tryouts in the U.S. ($129) and over $100 cheaper than the average for other professional clubs in California ($180).
Yes, once you click register on the Eventbrite page you can choose Affirm as your payment method during checkout and complete a quick application on Affirm’s website, and get a real-time decision. To apply, you’ll need to be at least 18 years old and provide a U.S. mobile or VoIP phone number, the last four digits of their Social Security Number, date of birth, and email address. If approved by Affirm, you’ll instantly be registered for Open Tryouts. Learn more: Eventbrite + Affirm FAQs
Registration is non-refundable. If you let us know two weeks in advance that you’re unable to attend the tryouts, we’ll issue you a gift card to the SF Deltas Team Store in the amount of the registration fee.
There are a limited number of spots available. All available spots are first-come, first-served, so we recommend you sign up as early as possible.
Friday’s tryout will be structured as 8 vs. 8 games. Each player will play three 20 minute periods with two breaks of 5 minutes each. The smaller numbers of players on the field (as opposed to 11 vs. 11) will allow players to stand out and get more touches on the ball. The Deltas coaching staff will select top players for an 11 vs. 11 showcase that will take place at 7pm on Saturday, November 12th at Crocker Amazon Fields in San Francisco.

You will be invited to attend pre-season training camp with our first team squad. If you impress while training with the first team you may then be offered a professional contract with the SF Deltas.
Should you impress our head coach Marc dos Santos and are offered a professional contract, upon execution and delivery of such contract the SF Deltas would undertake to procure for you the necessary non-immigrant visa to play professionally in the United States for the SF Deltas. Depending on the terms of your contract, the SF Deltas may also elect to pay all or a portion of the costs and associated fees with procuring such visa.
You do not need to be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident to participate in the Open Tryouts. However, any international player is responsible, at such player’s sole cost and expense, for complying with all immigration laws applicable to making a visit to the United States to participate in the Open Tryouts, including procurement of a non-immigrant visa to permit such visit. On a case by case basis, the SF Deltas may be able to provide an invitation letter in support of a prospective player’s application for a temporary non-immigrant visa, such as a tourist visa, that would permit such a visit. In order for us to consider your application you must send in your invitation request from your embassy in your home country to Ricardo Stanford-Geromel – firstname.lastname@example.org.
