Republic FC Open Tryouts offer participants the opportunity to be evaluated by Republic FC staff in the hopes of signing a professional contract with the club. Republic FC coaching and technical staff—including General Manager Todd Dunivant—will be on hand to observe tryouts during both days. At least one player in attendance will be invited to train with the team ahead of the 2020 USL Championship season with the chance to earn a professional contract. In each of the last two seasons, three players were invited from tryouts to the first team preseason. Open to players 18 and up.

How old do I have to be to try out?
Trialists must be 18 or over.
Who can try out?
Tryouts are open to eligible males, with a recommended age of 18 or older. All athletes will need to sign and deliver a consent and waiver provided by Republic FC in order to participate.
Republic FC also offers tryouts for athletes under the age of 18 for the club’s United States Developmental Academy programs. Academy tryouts for the 2020-2021 season will be announced in Winter/Spring 2020.
I’m not a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident, can I still try-out?
You do not need to be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident to participate in Republic FC’s open tryouts. However, any international trialist is responsible, at such trialist’s sole cost and expense, for complying with all immigration laws applicable to making a visit to the United States to participate in the tryouts, including procurement of a non-immigrant visa to permit such visit. On a case-by-case basis, Republic FC may be able to provide an invitation letter in support a prospective trialist’s application for a temporary non-immigrant visa, such as a tourist visa, that would permit such a visit.
In order for us to consider your application, you must send in your invitation request from your embassy in your home country. We will provide a letter of invitation when we have received the following information:

How does the tryout impact college eligibility?
College athletes wishing to try out should check with their school’s NCAA compliance officer and college coach to make sure the tryout will not affect their eligibility. Different states have different regulations regarding tryouts and Republic FC will not take responsibility regarding your NCAA eligibility.

Do I need an agent to participate?
No, Republic FC tryouts are open to any interested athlete. You do not need an agent to participate.
I have asthma, will this stop me from participating?
No, but we do recommend that you alert your coach of any ailment and have your inhaler or other medication close-by. You will also be asked to sign a consent and waiver, which you must bring and deliver to Republic FC prior to engaging in any activities on the first day of tryouts. We encourage you to read through it carefully and if in any doubt please consult with your doctor and/or legal representative. The document can be viewed below.
What do I need to bring to tryouts?
You must bring a signed consent and waiver attached below.
Additionally, all players must bring appropriate footwear. Tryouts will be held on synthetic turf. You will also be expected to wear white socks, black shorts, white jersey/top and shin guards. Tryouts will go ahead rain or shine, so please also check weather reports and bring appropriate wear including towels or sunscreen.
Will there be any transportation to and from the tryouts?
Each trialist is solely responsible for all accommodation bookings, transportation and costs. Republic FC is not responsible for your accommodations.
What is the format of the tryouts?
Day 1 will consist of 7v7 games and Day 2 will consist of 11v11 games.
Will food be provided?
No, although players are also welcome to bring their own drinks or snacks for the duration. Republic FC will provide water.
Will there be trainers or medical personnel on-site in case of injuries?
Yes, Republic FC’s athletic training and medical services personnel will be on-site throughout the tryouts.
Can my friends and family watch?
Yes. Your friends and family are welcome to view the tryout and may watch from the bleachers.
Who will be there?
Besides Republic FC coaching staff in attendance, the club will invite NPSL and lower division teams/coaches to the tryout. This increases visibility to the players and helps those coaches recruit.
What is the call-back procedure and when is the next round?
Trialists will be notified either via email or phone within three days if they will be invited to preseason with the team.

Should you impress our coaching staff enough to be offered a professional contract, upon execution and delivery of such contract, Republic FC would undertake to procure for you the necessary non-immigrant visa to play professionally in the United States for Republic FC. Depending on the terms of your contract, Republic FC also may elect to pay all or a portion of the costs associated fees with procuring such visa.
